Emrah Elçiboğa – Actor, Director & Screenwriter
Emrah Elçiboğa, born in 1974 in Istanbul, completed his acting training at Akademi Istanbul, Department of Theatre, at the studio of Ahmet Levendoğlu, finishing his education in 1998. Even before his professional training, he gained stage experience in independent theatre groups. Since then, he has worked continuously as an actor in numerous theatre, film and television productions.
Alongside his artistic career, he worked for five years as a director and instructor at the Faculty of Political Sciences at Istanbul University. For many years, he has also been active as an acting coach, supporting actors in their professional development. At Tiyatro Stüdyosu, he additionally worked as an assistant director.
In addition to his stage and film work, he has been involved in various TV and radio productions. Most recently, in London, he produced the 25-episode cinema program “Bu Filmi Neden Sevdim” for Dem Radio. He is an active member of the Actors’ Union (Oyuncular Sendikası) and BİROY. He also works professionally as a screenwriter for television series.
Since 2018, Emrah Elçiboğa has been living in Germany. Together with his wife, Zeynep Ela Elciboga, he works on artistic an conceptual intercultural projects. He works here as a director, acting coach and creative artist with German ensembles, while continuing to work regularly in Turkey. His artistic practice therefore evolves within an international and intercultural context.
In 2023, he founded the association Stage! - Forum für Bühnenkunst e.V., of which he has served as chairman ever since. The opening project of the association received the Cultural Award for Intercultural Dialogue from the Pill-Meyer Foundation and was nominated for the German Engagement Award.
His additional skills include: voice work and dubbing, acting coaching, horse riding, driving, billiards, table tennis, football, swimming, as well as stage combat and sword fighting.
